Image of hunter with a Guadalupe TurkeyThe Homer Martin Ranch is one of the top turkey hunting destinations in Texas. Homer Martin, like many private landowners, works in conjunction with Texas Parks and Wildlife biologists to manage and protect the Rio Grande Turkey, which helps ensure that you have the best possible hunting experience. On the ranch, there are large roosting areas on the Llano River and Bast Creek, as well as in the deeper draws of the Cabin Pasture. When you arrive, our Ranch Manger, Joe Hartwell, will show you around!

The Homer Martin Ranch is exclusively opened to bow-hunters during the deer season; however, we do allow turkey hunters to use shotguns.Image of hunter with a Texas gobbler While you’re here, we require that you abide by the Fair Chase hunting principles; meaning that hunters must call the birds to their stand and rifles are not allowed. We would like to suggest bringing a pop-up blind or tent, as the Homer Martin Ranch does not provide stands. Turkeys will be turkeys, so bring your gear.

When you decide to come hunting, you’ll be happy to know that all turkey hunters are allowed to kill an unlimited number of wild boars. When it comes to feral hogs, you’re welcome to stalk during the day, or hunt at night. If you can use the weapon and it’s legal, we allow it. Get them suckers!

Please don’t forget to read about additional policies found on the General Hunting Information page. Come test your hunting skills on the Homer Martin Ranch!
